I recently had the pleasure of staying at a lovely farmhouse near Monsaraz for a family vacation. The traditional accommodations provided ample space for my family, and we appreciated the well-kept ambiance. Each morning, we enjoyed a simple yet satisfying breakfast featuring fresh bread, cheeses, and local hams - perfect fuel for our daily explorations. The highlight of our stay was the welcoming atmosphere created by the cheerful staff, who promptly addressed our requests. Our children particularly enjoyed the inviting swimming pool, an oasis during the Alentejo heat. The hotel's proximity to Monsaraz allowed us to experience the unique local culture. We attended the Monsaraz Museu Aberto, which captivated my kids with its engaging exhibits and rich history. Evenings were spent listening to local music, further enriching our family's experience. While the surrounding area requires a vehicle for exploration, the facilities offered were quite suitable for families. With one child under 16 and another under 2, we found the environment calm and accommodating. I look forward to returning once the pool is fully open for even more family fun.
